Inoculating drug addicts and smokers is a squander, said the, the President of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol (NATA) Dr. Samadhi Rajapakse.
He further stated that weak immunity and lung failure will cause death in chain smokers unlike a healthy individual.
Accordingly, it will be effective to vaccinate persons who do not consume alcohol or tobacco, Dr. Rajapakse said.
He further said, if the vaccine is administered to anyone, they should avoid alcohol, narcotics and smoking for at least six months.
