The Cabinet Sub Committee appointed to review the recommendations of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) to investigate the Easter Sunday terror attacks will hand over its report to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on March 15.
The Committee has so far met three times and wide-ranging discussions were held on how to implement the recommendations of the final report of the Presidential Commission.
The Cabinet Sub Committee comprises Ministers Johnston Fernando, Udaya Gammanpila, Ramesh Pathirana, Prasanna Ranatunga and Rohitha Abeygunawardene.
According to Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, information from foreign intelligence agencies had been passed to the relevant Sri Lankan authorities about possible attacks on 333 occasions. However, it is our responsibility to prosecute those responsible for the attacks,” he added.
The Minister said the Committee will meet on March 12, 13 and 14.
Several senior Police officers also participated in the Committee meeting held under the patronage of Minister Chamal Rajapaksa who heads the Cabinet Sub-Committee.
