The Captain of the MV X-Press Pearl cargo vessel has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), said the Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
DIG said, that the Russian national will be produced before the Colombo High Court today.
The CID earlier recorded statement from the captain and several others including the Chief Engineer of the vessel over the incident.
