Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday inaugurated the development of 500 Villages islandwide as “Saubhagya Production Villages”. The first three villages under the programme,namely Mandaramnuwara in Nuwara Eliya, Uduiriyagolla in Peradeniya and Sandilipai Piranpatru in Jaffna will be developed as Bean Seed and Coffee Production Village, Floriculture Village and as Sesame Oil Production Village respectively. The commemorative digital plaques were unveiled at the event at Temple Trees under the patronage of the Prime Minister.
