Afghanistan: Chinese ambassador, Jaish commander meet Taliban leaders

Kandahar

 (

Afghanistan

):

Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan Wang Yu and Chief Operational Commander of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Mufti Abdul Rauf Azhar, have met the Taliban leadership in Kandahar to congratulate the Sunni Pashtun Islamists for occupying Afghanistan.

The Taliban candidates for the presidency of Afghanistan are Mullah Baradar and Mullah Yakub, the son of Mullah Omar and deputy leader of the Taliban. Both are currently in Kandahar.

Chinese ambassador Wang on Wednesday met his Pakistan counterpart to cooperate closely on the Afghan issue. He is understood to have met Mullah Baradar in Kandahar to offer China’s help in rebuilding the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan.

China is not only happy with the humiliation of the US at the hands of the Taliban, but is also considering selling the Belt Road Initiative (BRI) and exploiting Afghan reserves of lithium and copper in the garb of reconstruction of Afghanistan. The big Chinese game-plan is to reach the Central Asian republics through Afghanistan to extract gas and mineral resources.
