In India, 36,083 new cases of coronavirus have been reported over the last 24 hours, after which the number of patients infected with coronavirus has increased to 3 crore 21 lakh 92 thousand.
The death toll has increased to 4 lakh 31 thousand 225 with 493 fresh deaths during this period. According to the ministry, less than 50,000 new cases of corona are being reported daily for 39 days.
According to the data released by the Ministry of Health on Sunday, active cases have come down to 3 lakh 85 thousand 336. The coronavirus recovery rate at the national level has been recorded at 97.46 percent. A decrease of 2,337 cases has been registered in active coronavirus infection in a period of 24 hours. At the same time, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.88 percent. It has remained at less than 3 per cent for the last 20 days.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that on Saturday (August 14), 19 lakh 23 thousand 863 samples were tested for Covid-19, in which a total of 49 crore 36 lakh coronavirus tests have been done so far in the country.
According to the Ministry of Health, the number of people recovering from the disease has increased to 3 crore 13 lakh 76 thousand, while the death rate is 1.34 percent. The weekly positivity rate has been recorded at 2 percent.
There have been a total of 4,31,225 deaths in the country so far, including more than 1.34 lakh in Maharashtra, 36,958 in Karnataka, 34,496 in Tamil Nadu, 25,069 in Delhi, 22,783 in Uttar Pradesh, 18,499 in Kerala and 18,291 in West Bengal.
The ministry said that a total of 73 lakh 50 thousand 553 vaccine doses were given in the last 24 hours. As of Sunday morning, a total of 54.38 crore coronavirus vaccine doses have been given under the nationwide vaccination campaign.
