Doctor on call for vaccinations in Matugama

The vaccine roll out largely has been handled by medical and military authorities who are busy trying to keep up with heavy demand. However, in rural areas many older adults and differently-abled lack transport amenities to visit COVID-19 vaccine centres. In this scenario, doctor Ranjith Dissanayake from the Katugahahena hospital and his staff with the help of community leaders have begun visiting homes in Narawila, Gorakaduwa, Kandahena and other villages in the Matugama MOH area where people face transportation difficulties to vaccinate the elderly villagers.
