Two men aged 60 and 44 were killed and another injured when two trap guns intended to kill wild animals were accidentally triggered in the Thirappane area.The incident had taken place close to the Muriyakalla tank in the Thirappane police division on Thursday.
Another person who had gone with the two deceased victims had run back to the village to seek assistance but unfortunately had fallen victim to another trap gun.
He has been admitted to the Anuradhapura General Hospital with injuries. The deceased have been identified as residents of the same area, the police media spokesman said.
Tirappane Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the incident.
