The Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre today issued an advisory for Rough Sea and Strong Winds.
According to the advisory, “Wind speed can be increased up to 70 kmph in the sea area extending from Kankasanturai to Puttalam via Mannar. These sea areas will be rough to very rough at times. Wind speed can be increased up to 60 kmph in the sea area extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Mathara and Hambanthota. These sea areas will be rough at times.”
Naval and fishing communities are advised to be vigilant in this regards.
