Facemask query lands filling station worker in hospital

An employee of a filling station at the Aluth Paara, Meegoda has allegedly been assaulted by a service seeker in the wee hours yesterday (06) for bringing to the latter’s notice that he was not wearing a face mask. The victim was admitted to the Padukka hospital and then transferred to the Kalubowila hospital.

The suspect had come at dawn to buy fuel from the filling station without a facemask on. When the employee queried about it, the suspect had assaulted the employee with his companion. The CCTV footage has the incident recorded but the suspects so far have not been identified.

The Meegoda Police seek the support of the public to identify the suspects and any information can be given confidentially to 071 8592179.
