The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Parliamentary Group is scheduled to meet to discuss a No-Confidence Motion against Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage for violating the trust of farmers by not providing fertilizer on time, MP Tissa Attanayake said.
Speaking to the Daily News yesterday, he said that the SJB Parliamentary group is scheduled to meet this week and necessary arrangements will be made regarding the NCM. However, he said that as there are different views regarding this issue and it is only a proposal at present. But, he said after the discussion, a decision would be taken.
Attanayake said that under this Government the farmers have been pushed into a dire predicament, adding that the Government has failed to address their grievances and provide viable solutions.
