Vidullanka becomes the first of its kind to be bestowed and certified as a ‘Great Workplace’

Solidifying its presence as a leading renewable energy power generation company in Sri Lanka, Vidullanka PLC recently had the distinction of being awarded with the coveted Great Place to Work title for 2021/22.

Speaking about the Company’s success, Vidullanka PLC, Chief Executive Director Riyaz Sangani said: “We take great pleasure in being one of the great workplaces in the country. For the past two and a half decades the company has placed itself as a premier renewable energy developer whilst being a ‘change agent’ in the Power and Energy Sector in Sri Lanka. Over the last two decades the Company’s capacity has steadily grown and is presently at 37MW with a total energy supply exceeding 140GWh annually to the national grids.

Director Operations Roshan Siriwardana said that leveraging on this success, the company also raised additional capital Rs. 253mn by way of a rights issue of non-voting shares to invest in the development of solar power projects. Whilst Monaragala Solar power project undertaken by the subsidiary Orik Corporation (Pvt) Ltd set to add an additional one megawatt of capacity to the group’s generation capacity, the company is in the process of finalizing the installation of three more rooftop solar power plants, which would add further one megawatt of generation capacity to the company’s generation portfolio.

The group also has two more power plants in progress, namely Horana Solar Power Plant with 2MW capacity developed through a wholly owned subsidiary and Vavunathivu Solar Power Plant with 10MW installed capacity, jointly developed with Windforce PLC & Hi Energy Services (Pvt) Limited.
