T20 WC: India sets the highest target of the tournament, Afghanistan to chase 211

Abu Dhabi:

India has made powerpack come back to set the highest target of the T20 World Cup 2021 tournament. It just took four Indian batters to gather 210 runs for the team.

Though, an unusual event took place as the India skipper Virat Kohli did not show on the crease neither on one down nor on two. Rishabh Pant paved the way to the crease as Rohit Sharma returned, garnering 74 runs in 47 deliveries.

India lost its opening wicket after a grand total of 140 runs off 14.4 overs. Rohit reached out to a fuller one, without any feet, and slices that towards the covers but can’t find the gap, and picks out Nabi who doesn’t have to move a millimeter to take that catch. Rohit was probably disappointed that he was dismissed after being set at the crease

KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma showed a great partnership here in Abu Dhabi against Afghanistan when India is playing its third game of the ongoing T20 World Cup tournament.

This is the First 50+ score in T20 World Cups for Rohit Sharma in 11 innings. Last was 56 vs Ban in Mirpur in 2014.

India made 53 runs in the first 6 overs, the highest batting powerplay score so far in the ongoing T20 World Cup tournament.

Indian team is successfully saving their wickets, breaking the continuum of early wickets losses as seen in the past two games. Men in Blue will eye on winning the game to keep their already diminutive hopes alive for the semi-finals.

India has lost the toss ahead of their face-off with Afghanistan and is asked to bat first in the third consecutive game on the ongoing T20 World Cup Tournament.

Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi chose to bowl, giving the dew as the main reason which makes bowling difficult in the second half.
