Two arrested with ammo, rifle remanded

Two suspects arrested on October 30 in connection with the possession of live ammunition and an automatic gas rifle at a house in Ambakote, Digana have been remanded till November 15 by Teldeniya Magistrate and District Judge L.J.V. Punandu.

The two suspects were also subjected to a PCR test. Police Sergeant G.G.R. Ariyawansa of the Teldeniya Police presented a report stating that they had found a large number of stolen items and a hundred rounds of live ammunition in their possession, including more than Rs. 600,000 in cash.

The Magistrate ordered that the two suspects be remanded till November 15 and that an open inquiry be held into the incident.
