New Delhi:
The Executive Council of Delhi University on Friday has given a nod to conduct common entrance test (CET) for undergraduate admissions from 2022.
Earlier, the Academic Council had approved of this proposal on December 10 against the dissent of 16 council members. In fact, in the Friday meeting, two executive council member stood in opposition of the proposal. However, a senior varsity member revealed that the work on the examination modality will start soon.
The council also discussed on granting paid maternity leave to ad hoc and non-teaching faculties. The official report stated, “The Committee notes that ad hoc/contractual women teaching and non-teaching employees are engaged for a fixed term, paid maternity leave may be granted to such women employees of the University/Colleges for a maximum period of 26 weeks within the specified time of such fixed term engagement.”
During the meeting, the committee also approved the proposal demanding payment of honorariums and providing certain facilities to Adjunct Faculty members. However, the two committees in August decided to empanel Adjunct Faculty for “value addition” and “internationalization of the academic activities”.
