The price of a kerosene stove has gone up from Rs 2,500 to Rs 8,000 due to an increase in demand for them due to LPG gas explosions.
While the demand for domestic gas cylinders has dropped, the demand for kerosene stoves has increased during the last couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) sources said that the country’s daily Kerosene requirement had increased by 100 MT.
CPC sources said the daily kerosene requirement in Sri Lanka had been approximately 500 MT, and it had increased to 600 MT over the past few days.
