#WATCH Kanpur: SP workers vandalise BJP activist's car in protest against PM Modi's visit

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where he inaugurated the first phase of Kanpur Metro, some miscreants who ostensibly belonged to Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party were seen vandalising the car of a BJP activist in the city. 

The video shows office bearers of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha raising slogans against the BJP government and burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. They also vandalised a car of a BJP activist sporting party flag and a banner welcoming the Prime Minister. 

The students of the student wing of the Samajwadi Party were protesting near Naubasta vegetable market.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated the completed section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project and took a metro ride. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present. 

According to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the completed 9 km long section of Kanpur Metro Rail Project stretches from IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel. The entire length of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project is 32 km and is being built at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore. Kanpur Metro is going to be the fastest built metro project in the country.

The Prime Minister also addressed the 54th convocation ceremony of IIT Kanpur. He also launched blockchain-based digital degrees at convocation ceremony.
