New Delhi:
In a major revelation, the NSG (National Security Guard) has informed the Delhi Police that the IED recovered on Friday (January 14, 2022) from east Delhi’s Ghazipur flower market had a timer device attached to it.
The NSG also informed the police that the explosive had ammonium nitrate and RDX which was used is several blasts in Mumbai.
The explosive was diffused and the post-blast report was sent to Delhi Police that stated that the IED had ammonium nitrate, RDX, a 9-volt battery, iron pieces and a timer device attached to it.
The report further stated that the RDX was used as the core explosive but it failed to blow off due to “glitch” in the circuit.

Meanwhile, reports say National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials met with senior officials of special cell probing the incident on Monday. The special cell is probing the link of the incident with Pakistan’s ISI.
“The IED recovered in Gazipur is similar to IEDs recently recovered in Punjab that was smuggled into the state from Pakistan. In recent times, more than 40 sightings of drones were spotted in Punjab border with Pakistan,” a senior officer with Delhi Police Special Cell said.
The officer further said the informers have been activated and asked to get leads regarding sleeper cells who might have planted the bomb in the Ghazipur flower market.
“The nature of explosives recovered in Delhi, suggests that it was transported to Delhi from Punjab through the network of sleeper cells. We are putting many mobile phones and IP addresses on surveillance to get any leads regarding sleeper cells,” the officer said sharing details of the probe.
Also, the Delhi Police on Monday said they found the claims of terror outfit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, an Al-Qaeda affiliated Islamist militant group, regarding the Ghazipur Mandi bomb scare, as bogus.
Delhi Police’s Anti-Terror Squad continue to probe whether the group is responsible for the terror attack attempt.
