India's Covid-19 positivity rate drops to 15.88% from 19.59%; 2,51,209 new cases, 627 deaths reported

New Delhi:

India’s Covid-19 test positivity rate has seen a sharp decline in the last 24 hours. It now stands at 15.88 per cent down from 19.59 per cent a day ago, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) informed on Friday morning.

The country recorded 2,51,209 (2 lakh 51 thousand 2 hundred and 9) new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The fresh infections are, however, 12.28 per cent lower than 2,86,384 (2 lakh 86 Thousand 3 hundred and 84) cases reported on Thursday.

Here’s all the update of Covid-19 cases in India

– Recoveries in the last 24 hours outnumbered the new Covid-19 cases in the country. 3,47,443 (3 lakh 47 thousand 4 hundred and 43) patients recovered from the virus yesterday.

– Total Covid-19 recoveries in the country has now risen to 3,80,24,771 (3 crore 80 lakh 24 thousand 7 hundred and 71).

– India’s recovery rate now stands at 93.60 per cent. 

– Deaths due to Covid-19 in India in the last 24 hours remained higher on Thursday. The country witnessed 627 coronavirus fatalities yesterday.

– Total Covid-19 deaths in the country has now risen to 4,92,327 (4 lakh 92 thousand 3 hundred and 27).

– There are presently 21,05,611 (21 lakh 5 thousand 6 hundred and 11) active Covid-19 cases in India. Active cases stand at 5.18 per cent of the total cases. 

– India’s Covid-19 tally has now reached 4,06,22,709 (4 crore 06 lakh 22 thousand 7 hundred and 9).

– On Thursday, 15,82,307 (15 lakh 82 thousand 3 hundred and 7) samples were tested for Covid-19 across the country, data by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said. 

– The nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive was started in India on January 16, 2021. Since then, more than 164.44 crore (1,64,44,73,216) vaccine doses have been administered in the country. 

– In the last 24 hours, 57,35,692 (57 lakh 35 thousand 6 hundred and 92) vaccine doses were administered in India.

– 10,94,610 (10 lakh 94 thousand 6 hundred and 10) people got their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while 33,86,750 (33 lakh 86 thousand 7 hundred and 50) received their second dose.

– As many as 6,34,105 (6 lakh 34 thousand 1 hundred and 5) children between the age of 15 and 18 received their first dose of Covid-19 on Thursday.

– Precaution dose or booster shot (third dose) was administered to 6,20,227 (6 lakh 20 thousand 2 hundred and 27) beneficiaries in the country in the last 24 hours.
