Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has informed that all institutes/ faculties/ departments/ offices/ units of the varsity have started functioning with 100 per cent capacity. Also, all the faculty members, officers and staff have been asked to be present at their workplaces.
Assistant Information and Public Relations Officer, BHU, Chander Shekher Gwari, said, “All the staff members have been requested to strictly follow the Covid appropriate behaviour.”
“Heads of departments/ offices will have to ensure that this is being followed without fail,” BHU said.
All the staff have been asked to wear masks at all times, maintain social distancing and follow all the Covid protocols.
With the rise in Covid-19 cases in for the past few months, the University was operating with only 50 per cent staff on campus. The remaining 50 per cent were working from home.
The Uttar Pradesh government has allowed the reopening of schools and colleges from February 7. Schools have been asked to operate adhering to Covid-19 protocols and guidelines.
The order stated schools and colleges, at the time of reopening must ensure that all are following the Covid-19 SOP – wearing face mask and maintaining social distancing. The schools and colleges in the state were earlier ordered to remain close till February 6.
