Indore: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has held a group of five people with the possession of over 800 kg of ganja that costed Rs. 1.32 crore. An official on sunday informed the accused were nabbed from Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh.
Indore: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) held a group of five people for possessing ganja worth Rs 1.32 crore. An official on Saturday informed that the accused were nabbed from Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh.
The accused group was transferring ganja in two vehicles to the grey market in Sagar district from Sonpur in Odisha, reported the news agency PTI.
The NCB carried out the operation on a tip-off. Reacting upon which, the team nabbed a truck and a car at Bagwada toll plaza on Friday. The two vehicles were carrying 883 kg of ganja, informed the NCB’s Indore zonal director Brijendra Chowdhary.
He further said there were as many as five people involved in smuggling of the substance.
With this, the total count of the seizure by the NCB, Indore, rose to 14 that involves a substantial quantity of contraband.
The officials said the Naxal hit areas are cultivating illegally along the borders of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
From where, the ganja is being smuggled to different parts of the country from there only.
