Korean youtuber who was harassed in Mumbai appreciate quick arrests

Mumbai: A Korean youtuber, who was harassed by two here, has appreciated the quick arrests of the accused and said she is planning to stay longer in India.

S Korean YouTuber Hyojeong Park said that similar encounters had happened with her previously but could not contact police there. On the other side, In India, she said, ‘action taken very quickly’.

“Happened to me in another country too but at that time I couldn’t do anything to call Police. In India, action being taken very quickly. I’ve been in Mumbai for over 3 weeks, planning to stay longer,” she told news agency ANI.

“I don’t want this one bad incident to ruin my whole travel and my passion to show wonderful India to other countries,” she added.

The female youtuber from Korea was harassed by two men while live streaming from Mumbai streets.

In the video, one of the accused can be seen dragging the woman by her arm and forcing her to sit on his bike. The girl refuses to do so as she said she is not wearing appropriate dress to travel. The accused did not stop despite the victim saying “no”.

The woman started to walk away but this time, the accused, who was accompanied by another man, followed her.

The two were forcing the girl to sit with them on bike so they could drop her somewhere. Even after constantly resisting them, the guys kept on trying to convince her.

Both the accused have been arrested and sent to 1-day Police custody.
