London HC appoints Advisory Council to further SL’s Interests

<p>The Sri Lankan High Commission in London, under the guidance of High Commissioner Rohitha Bogollagama, recently inaugurated an Advisory Council to further the country's interests to foster bilateral cooperation and enhancing investment prospects between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.</p>
<p>The Advisory Council on Sri Lanka's Interests (ACSLI) comprises a panel of Lankan and British experts spanning legal, banking, investment, tourism and hospitality, UK polity, and social and cultural engagement.</p>
<p>At its inaugural meeting, the Council discussed issues crucial for fostering an investment-friendly climate in Sri Lanka. Discussions centred around key topics such as taxation, employment laws, the introduction of new banking facilities, and the service sector. Additionally, the Council addressed the implications of new laws concerning the Colombo Port City and proposed measures to enhance air connectivity between Sri Lanka, the UK, and the Republic of Ireland.</p>
<p>High Commissioner Bogollagama underscored the importance of leveraging expertise and collaborative efforts to accelerate the process of attracting crucial investments into Sri Lanka.
