<p><img src="" alt="Featured Image"></p><p><!-- wp:html --><p>The newly appointed Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Myanmar Prabashini Ponnamperuma assumed duties at the Sri Lanka Embassy in Yangon on June 3, 2024. That mission has been often headed by political appointees.</p>
<p>Addressing the staff of the Embassy upon assumption of duties, the Ambassador stated that she is dedicated to strengthening the long-standing friendly relations between Sri Lanka and Myanmar, based on Theravada Buddhism. She also highlighted the need to enhance economic, political, and cultural connectivity between the two countries for mutual benefit.</p>
