Wanathawilluwa Police said a Navy lieutenant had drowned in Kala Oya on Monday.
The victim, Sunimal Deeptha Kumara, 42, at the Mullikulam Navy Camp, had attended a function at a friend’s residence near Kala Oya and gone for a bath in Kala Oya with some other attendees of the function. Police investigations revealed that he had drowned while bathing.
The post mortem was to be carried out yesterday.
