The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) Working Committee will meet today to decide on the General Secretary of the party.
Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya had earlier informed the SLMC that the party should inform the Elections Commission who will be the permanent secretary of the party before December 15.
Deshapriya had said that a political party cannot have a General Secretary and a Secretary to run the party affairs and had told the SLMC hierarchy to choose one secretary.
In accordance with this directive, the SLMC working committee will meet today under the leadership of Rauff Hakeem to choose the permanent secretary.
