SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier resumed Chennai-bound flights yesterday morning as Chennai airport recommenced work after temporary shut down due to the cyclone Vardah.
“In the morning, the Chennai Airport authority informed us that they are to resume work. SriLankan Airlines deployed five aircraft between Chennai and Colombo to meet the demand of previously scheduled and delayed passengers,” a spokesman for the national carrier said.
The SriLankan flights bound to Chennai were cancelled on Monday as Chennai airport was closed due to ‘Vardah’.
