The Sri Lanka Freedom Party Youth Front (SLFPYF) is ready to set up the Youth Front Balamandala at the district level from January 15 to mark the two-year anniversary of the President Maithripala Sirisena's appointment to the SLFP leadership, SLFPYF president Shantha Bandara said.

He made this observation yesterday during a press conference at the SLFP headquarters organised by the SLFPYF.

He also said that already 100 SLFPYF Balamandalas were set up at electorate level and Balamandals in 60 electorates have to be set up.

He added that in those electorates too the Youth Front Balamandala would be set up by January 15.

SLFP Southern Provincial Councilor Pasindu Yapa Abeywardena said the unity government has a great responsibility to solve many issues that have not been addressed for 68 years by the two main parties. He said the SLFP supported the 19th amendment with the hope that the 20th amendment to the Constitution would enable talented youth to enter into politics. SLFP Youth Front Media Secretary Asanka Edirisinghe said the government has to reconsider the 25 percent tax increase imposed on internet bills as it has prevent the youth from accessing data in the modern world.
