Three-wheeler falls into lagoon injuring six

 

Three women and two children were injured when the three-wheeler they were travelling in fell into the lagoon in Batticaloa.

Zahira Ummah (55) Kadhar Anuzisah (30) Kachchi Muhammadu Kabeer (35) Jeynul Alpa (3) and Mahith Hasan (4) were travelling from Batticaloa from Eravur when the accident occurred.

The three-wheeler had lost control and fallen into the lagoon while trying to prevent a motorbike from overtaking.

The six – including the driver - were rushed to the Batticaloa Hospital where they are being treated.

Batticaloa Police is investigating.
