A Grade 13 student attached to a school in Pinnawala has been arrested by the Rambukkana Police for allegedly assaulting a Deputy Principal attached to the school on March 11. The Deputy Principal is now warded at the Kegalle Hospital.
Police said the Deputy Principal in-charge of school discipline had recently issued a warning to the student concerned over a disciplinary matter and the student irritated over it had beaten the Deputy Principal injuring him.
The student was due to be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate.
