Naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command conducted yet another programme to clean the beach of Gintota yesterday.
Officers and sailors of SLNS Dakshina and SLNS Nipuna were engaged in this clean-up drive, during which, Naval personnel removed a large amount of plastic, polythene and garbage littered on the beach.
Under the visiont of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva to ensure a 'Green and Blue' environment, a number of programmes of this nature are being conducted in every Naval Command.
