NDF Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa yesterday said that he was blessed with a team of committed new political managers who have a clear vision to take the country forward.
Premadasa was addressing a ‘Youth Dialogue’ organized by Y Gen at Water’s Edge, Battaramulla, yesterday.
Youths representing the Youth Parliament and various organizations raised their questions to the panel which included Minister Patali Champaka Ranawaka, Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka, State Ministers Buddhika Pathirana, Harin Fernando, Dr.Harsha De Silva and several other politicians. “The country should be taken forward with a new group who are self sacrificing and who are never using public funds for their well being,” he said. The NDF Presidential candidate said that he is having a team who have expertise and competence in various field to assist my administration.
Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka addressing the event said that the Indian Ocean is becoming world’s major economic hub.
“North America and Europe in the Atlantic Ocean became the biggest hub for knowledge and goods and services in the early centuries. In the 20th century the economic power was slowly shifted to USSR, Japan, China and Korea in the Pacific ocean,” he said.
Galle district Parliamentarian Manusha Nanayakkara stressed the importance of creating attitudinal change in the minds of farmers if the country needs to turned farmers into agri- entrepreneurs. He said that the youth should be given proper training in agriculture too.
Nanayakkara said farmers should receive more relief from the state including the fertilizer subsidy.
Parliamentarian Nalin Bandara and Kavinda Jayawardena also spoke.
