Indictments will be served on 14 accused in connection with the abduction and disappearance of 11 youth between 2008 and 2009 before the Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar today (23).
The Attorney General’s Department yesterday informed of this to the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court when the magisterial inquiry into the abduction and disappearance of 11 youth was taken up before court yesterday.
Former Navy Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias ‘Navy Sampath’ granted bail by the Colombo High Court on December 31.However he was in remand since he was unable to fulfill the bail conditions, imposed on him. President’s Counsel Anil Silva appearing on behalf of Navy Sampath told court that his client had handed over his passport to Criminal Investigations Department. However, the CID stated that Navy Sampath’s passport was not with the CID.
