SLFP ensures grand victory for SLNPS at forthcoming elections – Bandara

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will help the Sri Lanka Nidahas Podujana Sandanaya (SLNPS) receive the biggest ever victory that a political alliance in Sri Lanka obtained so far, SLFP Youth Front Chairman MP Shantha Bandara said.

Bandara was addressing the media yesterday at the SLFP Headquarters.

He said that the Sri Lankans should be proud with the moves taken by the government and the Health Ministry to cure the Chinese patient, who suffered from CoVid 19.

He said that the government has paid an utmost attention on road development. Over 100,000 km of rural and alternative roads are renovated now. The highway from Matara will be commissioned on Sunday (23). Under the ‘Sapirigamak’ programme, Rs. 2 million will be allocated for each village to facilitate them with infrastructure. Over 100,000 unemployed youth will get jobs in the near future, he said.

“Over 100,000 poor families will be uplifted,” he said. Graduates are protesting on roads as the undergraduate courses are not job-oriented. Over 50,000 graduates and diplomaholders will be provided with jobs soon,” he said. He said that a strong government is essential to carry out the manifesto of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Bandara said the government will not stop the Wayamba-Ela project of the Moragahakanda-Kaluganga Reservoir. He said that Irrigation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa will carry out the project and supply water even to Siyambalanduwa. He said that the decision made to form an alliance with the United National Party is wrong. There will not be any collation with UNP, he said.

Former President obtained the Chairmanship of the new alliance on the invitation of Prime Minister Mnahinda Rajapaksa. He said that former President Sirisena will work further for the nation. Bandara said the decision to declare Saindamarudu as a town council was reversed because of people’s agitation.
