The Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) joined forces with the United National Party (UNP) led alliance ‘Samagi Jana Balawegaya (United People’s Front) yesterday(26).
The Democratic People’s Front (DPF) led by MP Mano Ganesan said, “The Tamil Progressive Alliance will contest the upcoming General Election under the new party and is determined to secure the Tamil votes”.
He was speaking at a press conference chaired by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa at the Parliament premises yesterday.
“We the TPA is very certain that Sajith Premadasa will be elected Prime Minister, and our party has pledged its full support to him in his quest for victory,” Ganesan said.
The members of the TPA consists of the Democratic People’s Front (DPF) led by MP Mano Ganesan, National Union of Workers (NUW), led by P. Thigambaram and the Up-Country People’s Front (UCPF) led by P.Radhakrishnan.
Jathika Hela Urumaya General Secretary MP Patali Champika Ranawaka also extended his support to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya on Tuesday.
