More than 2.5 million coronavirus cases have been reported globally by last night, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, USA. The total number of deaths worldwide was close to 180,000. The United States leads with more than 30% of the global infections, reporting more than 826,000 cases nationwide. Across the US, over 45,000 people have died due to the coronavirus pandemic. New York has the largest number of cases in the USA.
Spain is next with 208,000 cases, Italy 184,000, France 159,000, Germany 149,000 and the UK nearly 135,000. Italy has reported nearly 25,000 deaths, Spain 21,000, France 20,800 and UK 17,000. Meanwhile, Turkey’s recorded number of Coronavirus cases has passed China's. Turkey has confirmed at least 90,980 coronavirus cases, surpassing China’s reported total of at least 83,853, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The Turkish death toll also climbed to 2,140. Sri Lanka has recorded 323 cases so far, with seven deaths. Over 100 patients have recovered and left the hospitals in Sri Lanka.
