The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) closed trading for the day recording a daily turnover of Rs 3.68 billion. The main contributor to this turnover was Commercial Bank, where a total of Rs.2.93 billion worth shares were traded. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) moved up by 26.9 points or 0.60% to close at 4,393.54 whilst the S&P SL20 dropped by 22.13 points or 1.28% to close at 1,707.02. Today, 99 companies positively contributed to the ASPI’s gain. Five companies that mainly contributed to the ASPI’s gain were; Distilleries, Dialog, Ceylon Cold Stores, Telecom and Access Engineering. Meanwhile, five main companies that negatively contributed to the ASPI were; John Keells Holdings, Commercial Bank, Ceylon Tobacco Company, Guardian Investment and LB Finance. The stock exchange had already shortened operations to two hours as the island nation’s capital remains under curfew even as the government allowed public and private companies to resume operations from Monday
