Bimal appeals to youth to vote for democracy

Former JVP MP Bimal Rathnayake appealed to young voters in the Kurunegala district to give their fullest support to the JVP to win the forthcoming General Election.

He was addressing a meeting at the party office in Wilgoda, Kurunegala, on Saturday.

Rathnayake said that the JVP wanted to restore democracy and protect human rights in the country.

He said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed officials who are loyal to the government to the top posts, but has still not taken action on the allegations of corruption against the previous Yahapalana government officials.

JVP candidate Namal Karunaratne also addressed this meeting.
