Rapid Antigen tests (RAT) will be continued till January 3 in Batticaloa and business establishments apart from pharmacies and groceries in the area will be closed in this regard, Mayor Thiagaraja Saravanapavan said at a media briefing at his office yesterday evening.
He said that the entities that are allowed to function must strictly maintain the health guidelines.
The public are requested to cooperate with the authorities to ensure Batticaloa is COVID-19 free. New Year 2021 celebrations will be not be held and attendees at religious services will be limited to 25.
