The Officials of the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government commenced their duties yesterday by taking the State Government Pledge.
The event was held under the patronage of Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon and Secretary of the Ministry J. J. Ratnasiri.
Following religious observances, Ministry Secretary Ratnasiri said that when the country has been through a challenging year and is stepping into a New Year, the commitment of State employees is crucial in taking the nation forward. He also noted that under the COVID-19 pandemic circumstances many are forced to work from home, but said that the mechanism for working from home needs to be reviewed and made more efficient. He called on all State officers to pledge their commitment in accelerating the country’s development drive.
