The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will file a complaint in the Supreme Court that the Government has lost Rs. 15.9 billion in a tax evasion imposed on imported sugar and that the people have not received the relief.
The complaint will be filed today (12) with the participation of Party Politburo Member Sunil Handunnetti and Central Committee Member Sunil Watagala.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Secretary to the President P.B. Jayasundara, Secretary to the Finance Ministry S.R. Attygalle, former CWE Chairman Nushad Perera, Wilma Company Chairman Sajath Mausoon, Consumer Affairs Authority Chairman Shantha Dissanayake and the Attorney General are the respondents in the complaint, JVP sources said.
