Curfew violations: Arrests exceed 452

More than 452 violators of curfew and health regulations had been arrested during the 24 hours that ended at 6 am yesterday, police headquarters sources said yesterday.

So far 56,294 people have been arrested since the 30 of October last year for violating regulations put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Of them more than 53,000 had been prosecuted and 3,000 are due to be prosecuted, the police said.

Police also questioned 1,128 persons entering and exiting the Western Province in 639 vehicles on Saturday.
