New Delhi:
The month of Lord Shiva, Sawan is going on and it will end on the full moon. This year the Sawan full moon is falling on August 22 that is the day when the world will be celebrating Raksha Bandhan all over.
The festival of Raksha Bandhan has been going on for centuries now as it has special significance in the Hindu religion. This festival is a symbol of the unbreakable bond and love of brother and sister. On this day, sisters tie a thread on their brother’s wrist and pray for his long life as well as good luck to God. According to religious belief, Yamraj’s sister Yamuna had tied a rakhi on his wrist, in return for which Yamraj gave Yamuna the boon of immortality.
