At the e-Auction held on 17th & 18th August 2021, an equal all-time record price of Rs.1,550/= was recorded for a BOPA grade manufactured by URUWALA TEA FACTORY.
The particular tea was sold by M/s BARTLEET PRODUCE MARKETING (PVT) LTD and purchased by M/s VINTAGE TEA CEYLON (PVT) LTD.
Uruwala Tea Factory, established in 1920 is among one of the oldest factories situated in the Matara District and well-known as one of the most prestigious tea manufactures in Sri Lanka. It is managed by the Wanigasekara Family.
