Oxygen available for all COVID patients - Minister

Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella says no patient will have to pay with their life due to a lack of oxygen. The Minister said the daily requirement for oxygen had increased significantly adding that measures have been taken to obtaining the required stocks.

Minister Rambukwella expressing his views at a discussion at the Health Ministry said the matter related to data of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority being erased has been directed to the Criminal Investigations Department.

He stated an official report will be issued after the submission of the investigation report.

The Minister said this while participating in a discussion with representatives of the German Industry and Commerce Sector of Sri Lanka through Zoom Technology. The Minister joined the discussion at the Health Ministry on Monday (30).

Minister Rambukwella said that the support of the German industry and commerce sector in Sri Lanka is also very important in providing oxygen to the country and they will extend their full support in this regard.

The Minister said that many countries are currently supporting Sri Lanka in managing the COVIDpandemic and extended his gratitude to them. He said that the government will take the lead in providing the necessary financial facilities for this purpose while giving priority to the health service in the country at this crucial juncture.

The Minister of Health pointed out that the issue regarding the data of the National Drug Regulatory Authority has been referred to the CID and an official report will be submitted.
