will begin
delivery of the S-400 missile system to India this year amid the growing threat from China. This has been confirmed by the chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Meanwhile, Russian officials have said that the deal is running on its scheduled track. However, the United States (US) has opposed the defense deal between Russia and India. The USA has threatened sanctions against India over the S-400 deal with Russia.

In such a scenario, the biggest challenge facing India’s foreign policy will be to maintain its cordial relations with the US along with the S-400 deal with Russia.
National security is a priority for India
India has repeatedly raised its security concerns with the United States. India had recently cited its security concerns during a visit by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. He stressed that now the internal and external situation of India is not the same as before.
India is a major ally and strategic partner of the United States (US). As far as US sanctions are concerned, there are two divisions among US politicians. One is in favor of India and the other is against India. The scale of US cooperation with India is huge. This is a better position for Indian diplomacy.
India must make it clear that we are a sovereign and democratic nation. We are also free to fulfill our security obligations. No other country should interfere in this.
After the formation of QUAD and AUKUS, the attitude of the USA has changed. The US knows that India is facing a major strategic challenge from China and Pakistan. In that case, it is to be hoped that the US will not react sharply to the S-400 deal with Russia.
