about 600 government liquor stores in the national capital.

Under the new excise system, the liquor business in Delhi will be entirely in the hands of private traders.

The new excise policy aims to revolutionize the consumer experience, as stylish liquor stores are ready to replace the ones run by the current government. The policy was unveiled in July, under which spacious, well-lit and air-conditioned liquor stores will be set up in 32 areas across the city. Some liquor stores will also have a tasting facility to enhance the user experience.
