The chef of a restaurant in Negombo died after he fell from a staircase of the restaurant early on Sunday morning.
It transpired that the incident occurred after the restaurant’s anniversary party on Saturday night, police said.
The deceased was a 24-year-old resident of the Welimada area.
Police investigations have revealed that he had been climbing the outdoor staircase of the restaurant building to reach his room located on the fourth floor when the accident happened.
He sustained injuries to his head to which he succumbed.
Negombo Police are investigating.
