After superhit ‘Shershaah’, Karan Johar and Sidharth Malhotra are set to collaborate for yet another project, this time an action franchise – Yodha. The director-producer took to his official Instagram handle to share details of the franchise. A part of Dharma Productions’ ‘first action franchise’, Yodha will release in theatres on November 11, 2022.
Karan attached a first look teaser alongside the announcement. The clip began with a glimpse of a burning plane, before the camera zoomed in and focused on Malhotra’s character, wearing combat gear as he looks all set to kill or to be killed. He wrote in his post, “After conquering the peaks, I am proud to present Sidharth Malhotra back with power in the first of the action franchise by Dharma Productions – #Yodha. Directed by the dynamic duo – Sagar Ambre & Pushkar Ojha. Landing in cinemas near you on 11th November, 2022.”
In another post, Karan announced that the film will be directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, leaving fans intrigued about the female lead.
Johar and Malhotra have previously collaborated behind the camera on My Name is Khan where h worked as assistant director. Malhotra had also made his acting debut with Johar’s 2012 film Student of the Year. His critically appreciated Kapoor & Sons have also been produced by the Dharma banner.
Meanwhile, Sidharth also has Thank God and Mission Majnu in his pipeline.
