Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) M.M.C. Ferdinando has tendered his resignation to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa citing personal reasons.
He will resign from the position with from February 1.
Senior Engineer, Dr. Rohantha Abeysekara was appointed as the CEB Acting General Manager (GM) on Tuesday.
Dr. Abeysekara’s predecessor Dr. Susantha Perera assumed duties on January 15 as the temporary GM of the CEB. The CEB Engineers’ Union launched a sick leave campaign on January 18 against his appointment.
